of Agent
Some
taxpayers prefer to enlist the services of a professional
property tax representative (agent) to handle their
tax protest. In recent years, however, fewer and fewer
licensed tax consultants are willing to take on residential
property tax protests. This is especially true for homes
under $200,000.
The
form identifies the property for which the agent is
authorized to represent you, the specific duties you
authorize them to perform and allows you to set a date
upon which the authorization will expire.
The
authorization may be revoked at any time. However, while
the authorization is in effect, the agent generally
has complete authority to act for you. Be certain that
you communicate your wishes clearly to the agent as
their actions will almost always be binding on you.
