What Does Tax Remedy Do?

We represent owners of residential and commercial properties throughout Central Texas in annually contesting property tax appraisals.  We do everything for you:

        File a written protest with the appraisal board

        Gather sales and equity comparable data (from MLS, tax appraisal roll)

        Prepare professional presentation materials for informal and/or formal hearings

        Appear at informal and/or formal hearings on your behalf 

        Prepare and deliver a Year End Property Tax Summary to you every year

How Does Tax Remedy Charge for Services?

Our goal is to reduce your property taxes each year.  If we succeed, you keep 2/3 of any actual tax savings generated through our appeal of your tax appraisal. If our efforts don’t reduce your taxes, there are no fees of any kind.

We send you a complete Year End Tax Summary each November detailing the taxes before after our appeal.  Our fee is limited to 1/3 of any actual tax savings from the appeal.


Can’t I Do the Tax Appeal Myself?

Certainly, but it's important to realize that by protesting as an individual the appraisal board then has the advantage due to it's experience and goals!  

The advantages of enlisting our help are numerous; 

First, you spend less than three minutes on the tax appeal, just sign two documents and return them to our office by email, regular mail or fax.  That’s it, we do everything else.

We are licensed real estate brokers in addition to being licensed property tax consultants.  Tax Remedy is a member of the Austin – Central Texas Multiple Listing Service and the Highland Lakes Multiple Listing Service.  Our comparables database is updated every spring with all sales and listings occurring the previous year, giving us a clear advantage in preparing the best possible appeal of your tax appraisal.

Lastly, our current staff consists of former employees' of either Travis or Williamson County Appraisal Districts.  As a result, we know their appraisal systems as well as having longstanding professional relationships with the county appraisal staffs.  Based on the experience they know we have, they respect our opinions and are open to considering our arguments made in your behalf.
